Have you heard of Cinderella’s glass slipper? What about Sinbad the Sailor’s Flying Carpet? In this world, there are many magical items—but only one place where they’re safe: the Enchanted Emporium. For centuries, seven families have competed for ownership of the Emporium—and some of them are willing to do whatever it takes to get their hands on the powerful items housed within. Only Aiby Lily and her friend Finley have what it takes to stop the Emporium from falling into the wrong hands.
I really loved the illustrations after each chapter that advertise the magical items of the Emporium. Usually, the illustrations are listing a product mentioned in the proceeding chapter. It's a fun way to answer questions without going into tons of dialogue and it is just super cool.
Suitcase of Stars is a delightful tale of magic. It was a super quick, really fun read. I enjoyed the writing style of Baccalario because it had a great flow and really made me excited to keep reading.
I loved how much the character of Finley grew during the novel. He believed in himself way more by the end of the book, that was obvious. Also, I loved Patches, Finley's dog. The Lily family, especially Aiby, were so interesting! I really can't wait to see what happens in Book Two now!
5 stars to Suitcase of Stars!
