Harry Dresden -- Wizard
Lost items found. Paranormal Investigations.
Consulting. Advice. Reasonable Rates.
No Love Potions, Endless Purses, or
Harry Dresden is the best at what he does. Well, technically, he’s the only at what he does. So when the Chicago P.D. has a case that transcends mortal creativity or capability, they come to him for answers. For the “everyday” world is actually full of strange and magical things — and most of them don’t play well with humans. That’s where Harry comes in. Takes a wizard to catch a — well, whatever.
There’s just one problem. Business, to put it mildly, stinks. So when the police bring him in to consult on a grisly double murder committed with black magic, Harry’s seeing dollar signs. But where there’s black magic, there’s a black mage behind it. And now that mage knows Harry’s name. And that’s when things start to get… interesting.
Magic. It can get a guy killed.
Harry Dresden is an amazing character! He is a Wizard, a really bad-ass wizard that sells his services like a private detective would. So, it's only fitting that Harry is also a consultant for the police department. When Harry is summoned to a murder scene and discovers two bodies with their hearts having exploded through their chests. Soon, a pattern emerges and it is up to Harry to track down the bad guy before they get to him next!
I loved all the paranormal elements. The story kept getting more and more outrageous which was fun as well. The support characters were even great. The thing I like most about Harry is how he relies on his experience over so many other factors. When Harry walks into a situation he has already planned out multiple scenarios in order to prepare himself. Wish I could have that much forethought!
Overall, a fantastic read and I will be continuing the series, for sure!
5 stars to Storm Front!
