Synopsis:

All’s fair in love and war.

Two thirds of the world's population has been wiped out, devastated by the worst war earth has ever seen. Still standing amongst the ruins is a mind reader who finds herself on the wrong side of the war. Everyone does what they must to survive. When the rebels bent on bringing down the New World leader start to rise up, it is her job to make sure they stay down where they belong. That is, until one rebel sneaks past her defences and into her heart. Love will blossom from the ashes, but will it be enough to save them, or will it mean the end of them both?

*This book is for mature audiences due to sexual situations, violence and strong language. NA

Stalder has introduced me into the New Adult genre and I am hooked!

This book was out of the norm for me because I usually read Young Adult fiction. So, when characters started getting all hot and bothered I felt it wasn't needed for the story to succeed. Which it really wasn't but it didn't hinder it either. The plot itself was fast paced but none of the information given felt forced. Except for everybody getting all lusty the first time they meet. LoL

The relationships in Switch were complex to say the least. I loved how much dimension Stalder instilled in her characters. Dinah (lead female character) is strong and has a very special ability to read minds. This makes her a valuable commodity which falls into the hands of Ludwig (bad guy... or is he?) He uses Dinah against his enemies to get into their heads. Dinah really doesn't mind much until she meets Pete, a rebel with a cause. The relationship between Pete and Dinah has major ups and downs. But, I did find myself pulling for them.

Overall, Switch was an excellent read that held my attention. The ending was a fantastic cliffhanger and I am definitely looking forward to the second book in the New World series. Stalder has a smooth style all her own and I am looking forward to reading more of her work!

5 stars to Switch for rocking my world!
